What is A New Variation of Near-infrared Transmissive Black Dispersions?
TOKUSHIKI's near-infrared transmissive black dispersions, introduced last day, is a fine-grained dispersion of pigment that has two characteristics: black and light-transmitting in the near-infrared range. Another feature of this product is its compatibility with polyurethane resins, acrylic resins, ester resins, and other resins, as well as with various solvents and water. In the new variation introduced this time, the to be transmitted is shifted to the longer wavelength side. More specifically, IRBK-0001 (red line) in the graph shows the near-infrared transmissive black dispersion that was introduced last day, and IRBK-0003 (blue line) shows the new near-infrared transmissive black dispersion. As you can see, IRBK-0001 rises between 650nm and 700nm, whereas IRBK-0003 rises more rapidly near 750nm on the longer wavelength side. We are now able to deal with cases where we wish to transmit from a longer wavelength side.
Future Directions
This time, we designed a single pattern to shift the transmitted wavelengths toward longer wavelengths, but we believe that we could adjust the wavelength position that would rise due to the combination of materials. In order to respond to each customer's needs, the following versions are being considered to provide more detailed variations.
Applications and Lineup of Near-infrared Transmissive Black Dispersions
One of its advantages is that it is compatible with polyurethane resins, acrylic resins, ester resins, and other resins, as well as with various solvents and water. It is suitable for use in black paint or inks for electronic materials, black resists, IR sensors, etc.
Lineup | characteristics |
---|---|
IRBK-0003 | The spectrum was shifted to longer wavelengths than the current organic solvent-based (non-aqueous) near-infrared transmission black dispersion. |
IRBK-0004 | The spectrum was shifted to longer wavelengths than the current water-based near-infrared transmission black dispersion. |

Summary
TOKUSHIKI's near-infrared transmissive black dispersion has the characteristics of being black and transmitting light in the near-infrared region. As a new variation of TOKUSHIKI's near-infrared transmissive black dispersions, we have introduced a lineup of types that transmit longer wavelengths than current IRBK-0001 (non-aqueous system) and 0002 (aqueous system).
In the future, we will be able to adjust the transmission spectrum and aim to optimize it for our customers.
